The ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate officially began its journey for the year 2026–2027 with its First Council Meeting, held on 28 June 2026 at St. Monica School Hall, Kumbla, commencing at 4:00 PM. The gathering witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 38 council members, marking the beginning of another year of dedicated leadership and service.
The meeting was blessed by the gracious presence of Rev. Fr. Vishal Monis, Director of ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate; Sr. Severine D’Cunha and Mr. Joel Lancy Crasta, Animators of ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate; Mr. Prajwal Gladson D’Souza, President of ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate; and Ms. Linda D’Souza, Secretary of ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate.
The proceedings began with a cordial welcome address delivered by Mr. Prajwal Gladson D’Souza, who warmly greeted the gathering and encouraged everyone to work together with commitment, faith, and a shared vision for the year ahead. As a gesture of gratitude and encouragement, the Presidents and Secretaries of each unit were honoured with tokens of appreciation, recognizing their willingness to serve and lead their respective units with dedication. During the meeting, various plans, activities, and initiatives for the upcoming year were discussed in detail, which resulted in meaningful interaction, collaboration, and collective decision-making among the council members.
The yearly programme schedule was discussed during the meeting and finalized the programs. The planned activities for the year 2026–2027 are as follows:
- July: Taize Prayer at Ukkinadka.
- August: Radiant at Kayyar
- September: Bible Day at Miyapadavu
- October: Blood and Hair Donation Camp at Maniyampare
- November: PSC Training at Kumbla
- December: Football and Logori Matches at Manjeshwar
- January: Kalothsav at Vorkady
- February/March: Way of the Cross at Bovikana and Divine Rhythms at Permude
- April: Cricket Tournament at Narampady
- June: Rewind and Relaunch at Kollangana
Along with the yearly programmes, five online events were also discussed:
- June: Green Mission conducted by ICYM Bela Unit
- 15 August: Independence Day Quiz conducted by ICYM Kasaragod Unit.
- 8 September: Monthi Feast conducted by ICYM Narampady Unit
- 25 December: Christmas Vibes conducted by ICYM Bovikana Unit
- February–April: Start-up Plans conducted by ICYM Mariashram Unit.
Mr. Joel Lancy Crasta also addressed the gathering, inspiring the youth to embrace responsible leadership, strengthen their faith, and actively contribute to society.The meeting concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Linda D’Souza, who expressed sincere appreciation to the dignitaries, office bearers, council members, and everyone who contributed to the success of the meeting.
Following the council session, the Vicariate launched its environmental initiative, GREEN MISSION 2026–2027, near the church premises. The programme was honoured by the presence of Mr. Alwyn D’Souza, State President of the All India Christian Union, who shared an inspiring message highlighting the importance of protecting nature and preserving the environment for future generations.
As part of the initiative, plant saplings were distributed to every unit with an earnest appeal to plant, nurture, and protect them as symbols of hope, responsibility, and sustainable living. The initiative reaffirmed the commitment of ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate to environmental conservation and encouraged every young member to become an ambassador for a greener tomorrow.
The day concluded with renewed enthusiasm, stronger unity, and a shared determination to serve both the Church and society. With faith as its foundation and service as its mission, ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate embarks on the 2026–2027 journey with confidence, purpose, and the collective spirit of its young leaders.
